Group Workcamps and Bilateral Workcamps

Group and bilateral workcamps are formats of short-term volunteering. The focus of workcamps – beside contributing to community, of course –  is informal learning and self-reflection for the participating volunteers. There are daily reflection groups every evening.

Group Workcamps

Group workcamp is a format of short-term volunteering where the group consists of participants from one country only and volunteers receive pre-arrival training with the sending organisation. There are two leaders in the group workcamp: a leader from the sending organisation and the other from the side of host (CYA).

Bilateral Workcamps

Bilateral workcamp is a format of short-term volunteering where the group consists of participants from one country only. Differently form group worckamps, volunteers do not receive any pre-arrival preparation with the sending organisation as volunteers apply to the project individually during a prolonged time span. The team is formed after arrival at the project site. There are two leaders in the group workcamp: a leader from the sending organisation and the other from the side of host (CYA).
